We equip traditional wooden blocks with today's techniques, knowledge and innovations

ABOUT US

When my father started his block making business in 1970 he could not have guessed that 50 years later many sailing ships around the world would still be equipped with Ording blocks. From an early age I was always in his workshop, and after taking courses in woodworking and shipbuilding, I learned this special craft mostly in practice.

Together we studied how blocks were made in the 17th century and this historical knowledge serves us well to make the right block for each ship. We equip the traditional wooden blocks with today's techniques, knowledge and innovations, such as delrin or aluminum-bronze sheaves and high-quality hardware. The blocks can absorb large forces, are wear-resistant and resistant to seawater.

I still make our blocks by hand in combination with CNC machines, which allows for customization for any size sailboat. I share the passion for traditional and classic ships with my clients, many of which fortunately still sail around the world. For all those beautiful ships I make a high quality and durable product that, with proper maintenance, will last a very long time.
