BLOCKS

Custom made blocks for any ship

Custom made in our own workshop

ABOUT OUR BLOCKS

Every ship requires its own unique set of blocks, and we specialize in delivering exactly what your ship needs. They come in a wide variety of sizes, types of wood and bindings. We use traditional methods and deliver strong, beautiful custom-made blocks for antique sailing vessels, classic yachts, traditional ships, motor yachts and tallships.

Our blocks are made from sustainable, high quality wood with a choice of teak, elm, ash or black locust. With regular maintenance, these blocks have a long lifespan and will withstand the test of time.

They can be finished with varnish or oil, or left unfinished so that the colour can be matched to the colour scheme of the ship. We also provide customized name plates for the blocks.

Tested for quality assurance
Blocks are subject to very strong forces. They must be able to be trusted to do their jobs, work optimally, and be safe. Our blocks are tested for their break-strength and can be certified by Lloyds and German Lloyds.

The blocks are provided with saltwater resistant bindings made of aluminium-bronze or stainless steel (RVS 316). Aluminium-bronze has a very unique appearance, is very strong and can be welded, so it can be altered if needed.
Sheaves can be standard black delrin or bronze with options for bearings in double and three-sheave blocks, with and without becket.

CUSTOMIZATION

Leatherwork

For a truly luxurious finish, we produce wooden ash hoops and blocks with leather covers. The leatherwork is hand made in France with the greatest quality and care by our good friend Paola Cinquanta. The advantage to have blocks covered in leather is that the blocks are better protected against damage.
